子曰：“人皆曰‘予知’，驱而纳诸罟擭陷阱之中，而莫之知辟也；人皆曰‘予知’，择乎中庸，而不能期月守也。”
白话文：
孔子说：“人人都说‘我知道了’，可是被驱赶到罗网陷阱中去却不知躲避。人人都说‘我知道了’，可是选择了中庸之道却连一个月时间也不能坚持。”
英文：
Confucius said: "Everyone claims, 'I am wise,' yet when driven into the snares, traps, or pitfalls of life, none knows how to avoid them. Everyone claims, 'I am wise,' yet even after choosing the path of the Mean, they cannot uphold it for a single month."
